Take time to dwell in the goodness of what He has done and wait with anticipation for all He will do

Permission to Stop

It’s time for us to give ourselves “Permission to Stop”. Kundtz says, “Unnecessary self-restrictions and false guilt burden many of us and keep us from the peaceful times we yearn for. Quiet time to be alone is not an optional nicety; nor is it just for the retired, the lazy, or those naturally inclined. It is for all of us. It is valuable time well spent.”

Psalms 46:10 is one of my favorite verses. It says, “Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.” Similarly, 2 Chronicles 20:17 says, “This battle is not for you to fight; take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.’”

Everything in this life isn’t for us to do. There are times when we must do nothing but be. In those moments we must wait in quiet contemplation to hear the nothingness and be ok. While we hear nothing, know that our God is up to something. As the writer concludes today’s message, “Do you need permission for doing nothing? Here it is! Use it today.” May we all create a new habit of incorporating time to do nothing; it’s necessary.

FMBC Weekly Scripture: “Isaiah’s called to be a prophet”

“Listen to me, you coastlands! Pay attention, you people who live far away! The Lord summoned me from birth; he commissioned me when my mother brought me into the world. He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the hollow of his hand; he made me like a sharpened arrow, he hid me in his quiver. He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.” But I thought, “I have worked in vain; I have expended my energy for absolutely nothing.” But the Lord will vindicate me; my God will reward me.” Isaiah‬ ‭49‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NET‬‬

Like Isaiah, nothing that we have done in this life has occurred in vain. Every trial and every triumph has served as a blessing or lesson in our lives. As written, God will vindicate us; we only have to be willing to be obedient and faithful, humbling ourselves in our everyday lives and praying for forgiveness when we fall short.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Acts 8:35

“So Philip started speaking, and beginning with this scripture proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.”

Every opportunity we have we should tell of God’s goodness to others.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Take time to dwell in the goodness of what He has done and wait with anticipation for all He will do, my friend.
