Stephen Vincent Benét, American poet and short story writer. is known for saying, “Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the small uncaring ways.” Time is one thing in life we cannot get back, and therefore we should never take it for granted. As Kundtz provides his message today, he says, “One of the best ways, it seems to me, to determine your spirituality-the meanings and values by which you live is to ask yourself the question, What do I really care about?” Those things we care about, we put care into, many times with the most intricate details. Think about the mom who packs a child’s lunch, but goes further to leave a note that the child wasn’t expecting that brings a smile to their face unexpectedly. Kundtz gave an example of the family dry cleaners he had frequented for year, and the attention to detail provided from the time of dropping his items of with a warm welcoming spirit, to the replacement of buttons on a shirt without being asked or even having to pay for repair. Let us each day work to care about all that we do, no matter how small or large the task or deed, for everything our Father ever does for me and you is done with the utmost care, concern, and love.

Philippians 4:9 reminds us about God’s care for us saying, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Whatever He knows we need, He will provide. He knows us intimately and cares for us intently.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

There is no time nor circumstance in this life where our Father will not protect us. We can rest assured of that, for He is Jehovah, the protector, our Shepherd.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.

Let us always think on and work to display the characteristics highlighted and loved by God so that we are more like God.
