Traveling

This morning’s one-minute retreat talks about travel and how all travel is considered hurried, but in actuality when we travel (outside of work) aren’t we usually doing so for vacation? If that’s the case, as recommended, we have to learn how to make it a serene journey and expect challenges to be a part of the journey, but work to allow more time between getting there and having to be there. When you think about it, this advice isn’t just good for travel, it’s good for navigating everyday life. How can we make each day a serene journey? Well for starters, beginning each day in quiet contemplation and dwelling with the Father to lead and guide us is key. As we do this, we remember that it rains on the just and unjust, and just because we walk with Him doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges, but He will see us through. Finally, let us be aware of time. When we fail to plan, we plan to fail. May we work to write the vision and make it plan, scheduling time for work, play rest and recovery in between.

Matthew 6:11 reads, “Give us this day our daily bread.” All that we need is provided by the Father, and what we do with it is our responsibility. May we choose and travel through life well each day.

FMBC Weekly Reading: Jeremiah 9:2-9

The complete corruption of people, who proceed from evil to evil, deceivers, deceit, speakers of lies, oppressors, a sinful people.

“O that I had in the desert a traveler's lodging place, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers, a band of traitors. They bend their tongues like bows; they have grown strong in the land for falsehood, and not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me, says the Lord. Beware of your neighbors, and put no trust in any of your kin; for all your kin are supplanters, and every neighbor goes around like a slanderer. They all deceive their neighbors, and no one speaks the truth; they have taught their tongues to speak lies; they commit iniquity and are too weary to repent. Oppression upon oppression, deceit upon deceit! They refuse to know me, says the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: I will now refine and test them, for what else can I do with my sinful people? Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceit through the mouth. They all speak friendly words to their neighbors, but inwardly are planning to lay an ambush. Shall I not punish them for these things? says the Lord; and shall I not bring retribution on a nation such as this?”

Let us not be as those spoken about in this scripture. May we work to be the example for others to follow as we work to show and speak goodness and well intentions as followers of Christ.

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.“ Let us not work to do what comes easy for many in this world, but let us work to do what’s right and sometimes more difficult, but selectivity in this manner brings about prosperity with Him.

May we not take advantage of another day’s journey, and may we work to help someone along the way, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
