May we clear our minds to follow the lead of our Lord in our daily actions and deeds

The Chatter Just Keeps Coming

Steven Harrison, an international speaker on consciousness and human development says, “Perhaps what becomes most clear when we do nothing is that thought keeps on going, as though we were doing something.” Kundtz follows with “In our attempts to be still, often our internal chatter does not stop but goes on nattering away, and we are often stymied in our efforts to thwart it.” He then provides steps to help us limit the chatter. “First, don't let this discourage you. It is a universal challenge…. Focus on your breathing. Allow the chatter to come in, notice it, and allow it to continue out, thus creating a flow rather than a dam…Try silently reciting a mantra: a meaningful and ott-repeated word, brief phrase, or prayer… and again, don’t get discouraged.”

Breathing precedes all other things. Genesis 2:7-9 reads, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” Before we had life, our Father breathed into us. May we work to clear our minds and focus on our souls during our daily walk. As we focus on our souls may we then seek the knowledge our Father has for us, for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as written in 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14‬:‭33‬.

FMBC Weekly Reading: St. Luke 3:1-6 A Word from John the Baptist, a Warning is Sufficient

“Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Cæsar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judæa, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituræa and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; as it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall be made straight, And the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”

‭‭May we pay attention to the signs that God provides as we pray to Him for direction and petitions, which may be clearly provided, subtle, or through something or someone else. Let us draw close and be attuned to what He is saying and doing in our lives.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Respect and the utmost admiration and love of God peaks our desire to know and love Him more. For this causes us to seek to learn more and more about His wondrous works. When we do, many become resistant to us as we follow the calling of the Lord and not the instructions of (wo)man.

May we clear our minds to follow the lead of our Lord in our daily actions and deeds, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
