He will strengthen us in our meekest times and carry us in our weakest moments

Filling In

Award-winning journalist, Ronnie Polanezcky is quoted as saying, “We yearn for a moment's peace and quiet, only to turn on the radio, make a phone call, or run an errand as soon as an opportunity for solitude presents itself.” This morning’s message focuses on transitions. The author writes, “Each transition brings with it a feeling of unfamiliarity and a moment of disorientation. Too often the first inclination is to fill the gap with some kind of commotion, even though, as the quote above indicates, we often profess to yearn for peace and quiet.” We are then encouraged, “…simply sit through whatever period of transition you are going through. Stay there a moment. Notice what is going on for you, acknowledge the disorientation and bring all your attention to the present…. helping to cope with the new state of being.” This is a powerful suggestion that many fear, because it literally makes one sit with and in reality. We tend to distract ourselves preventing us from truly being honest with ourselves of how we feel, what we are dealing with, and what we really need to do for ourselves—it requires being real and real vulnerable. Vulnerability for many is thought of as weak from a human, flesh, societal perspective. Our Father thinks otherwise.

In Matthew 5:5, God says, “‘Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.’” And in Matthew 11:28, He says, “‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” God wants to take from us what is preventing us from being our best selves, for He is our heavy load bearer. Moreover, when we cast our cares upon Him and leave our burdens at the alter for Him shows our meekness, a sign of strength, not weakness, which is a lack of strength.

FMBC Weekly Reading: Romans 11:25-33

‭‭“So that you may not claim to be wiser than you are, brothers and sisters, I want you to understand this mystery: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved; as it is written, “Out of Zion will come the Deliverer; he will banish ungodliness from Jacob.” “And this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” As regards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved, for the sake of their ancestors; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Just as you were once disobedient to God but have now received mercy because of their disobedience, so they have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now receive mercy. For God has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may be merciful to all. O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!”

‭‭It doesn’t matter what we have done, and honestly, what we will do, for God knows all. However, what does matter is that we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, pray, repent and ask for forgiveness, for we will be saved.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Romans 1:16

I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Let us never hide from nor be afraid to tell about God’s work in our lives, for our testimonies are not for us, but us to work to sharing in the goodness of God that others will be drawn unto Him.

He will strengthen us in our meekest times and carry us in our weakest moments, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
