May we always make room for the Father in our decision making, no matter when and no matter where in our lives
Bigger: Better or Worse?
The writer todays compares the sizes of homes saying, “A big house is not a bad thing and a small house is not a good thing. They are just things to be reckoned with, things to be named as powers capable of influencing whether God and spiritual values are in the place you want them.” He goes on to say, “It is challenging but certainly possible to have a big house with your spiritual priorities in their proper corner. It is also possible to have a small house and God, hat in hand, standing in the hall.” We are then asked, “What is the size of your house? Where are your spiritual values?” No matter how many things we accumulate in life, and no matter the size, our Father should always be first and foremost, having a place in everything we have and do. The bigger the space, the more room to welcome and praise God, and the smaller the space the more opportunity for intimacy and attention to His ability to move and grow in our lives.
If we don’t already, let us keep Joshua 24:15 at the forefront of our lives and our homes with our loved ones. “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” God is Jehovah Jireh, our provider; He should have the first seat at our tables, for He is the reason for all we have and all we are.
Small Straws Scripture: James 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Whatever we need to know, the answer can be found in our Father. However, what we ask, let us be prepared to receive for His word is the truth and best for me and you. There is no room for doubt, yet much opportunity to prosper and be blessed.
Youversion Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Let us work to be diligent in our reading of the Word, which in turn impacts our doing of what’s in the Word. May our commitment show through our actions and deeds, unwavering as work work to draw closer to Thee.
May we always make room for the Father in our decision making, no matter when and no matter where in our lives, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
