May we always fight for what’s right and let God handle what we cannot
Stress + Relaxation = True Recovery
This morning, Kundtz gives us a subtle and often misunderstood fact about stress saying, “For every period of stress in your life, you need a corresponding antidote, a period of relaxation, just to maintain your health…. If you neglect the relaxation stage, you will accumulate the effects of stress until they begin to do very serious damage physical, emotional, and spiritual.” I cannot speak for others, but in my latter years I can confirm this to be true. Many of us are just used to dealing with matters, but then fail to deal with ourselves as a result of the matters. As described by Newton’s Third Law of Motion, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Therefore when we are impacted by stress, the obvious reaction to the body is to want to relax—so listen and govern yourself accordingly.
Matthew 11:28 encourages, “‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” Stress is a burden, so turn it over to Jesus, and let Him provide you comfort, peace, and restoration.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Amos 5:18-24
…the Godly desire for justice and mercy among “the people”.
“Alas for you who desire the day of the Lord! Why do you want the day of the Lord? It is darkness, not light; as if someone fled from a lion, and was met by a bear; or went into the house and rested a hand against the wall, and was bitten by a snake. Is not the day of the Lord darkness, not light, and gloom with no brightness in it? I hate, I despise your festivals, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the offerings of well-being of your fatted animals I will not look upon. Take away from me the noise of your songs; I will not listen to the melody of your harps. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
Let us be mindful of our actions, for as our days become fewer we do not want to our judgment day to be that of darkness. Let us love one another and fight for justice while we are able.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Hebrews 4:10
for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
Let us have faith and trust that anytime we turn our lives and situations over to the Father, we don’t ever have to worry, but always rest in assurance that He will handle us with care and bring us through.
May we always fight for what’s right and let God handle what we cannot, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
