May we never take take for granted what God has done and continues to do in our lives
Curbing Forgetfulness
Kundtz states today, in past generations “People lived their lives with a conscious realization of the balance between slowness and remembering, between speed and forgetting.” However, now “We know it too, but only if we stop to recollect it. Contemporary life does not afford us the intuitive awareness of our forebears. It is, in fact, counterintuitive to a life in balance.” We need to focus on remembering, for it slows us down and keeps us in a place. Think about a precious memory that draws you back to a certain. Those memories are a place of peace and happiness—where we desire to stay. As your days pass by with busyness, take time to stare into space and reflect on memories to help slow down and enjoy life’s moments.
Psalms 143:5 reads, “I remember the days of old, I think about all your deeds, I meditate on the works of your hands.” We all hold memories of God’s goodness in our lives, even if we don’t have many good memories of our own recollection that may be overshadowed by painful ones. His blessings in and over our lives are countless. Choose time each day to dwell on His goodness and His everlasting love for you and me.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Hosea 6:1-7
The Lord desires mercy towards others and knowledge of God’s ways
“Come, let us return to the Lord; for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth.” What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes away early. Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets, I have killed them by the words of my mouth, and my judgment goes forth as the light. For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. But at Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me.”
May we always know we can always return to the Father. If we open our hearts to be loved and to begin again, there is never a time that He won’t take us in and pour into us, for His love for us never ends.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Luke 6:28
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
No matter how others may treat us, we must share God’s way for our lives with them.
May we never take take for granted what God has done and continues to do in our lives, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
