May safety, compassion, and well intentions be the driving forces in all that we do

Getting in the Car

Kundtz begins his message today saying, “Road rage is a symptom of a temporary madness that is, I believe, a direct result of our overbusy lives. We are simply overwhelmed by all we have to do and therefore we take it out on the drivers who block our way for five seconds.” Have we really even thought about why we get road rage? Do those few seconds really negatively impact us? We are responsible for our own actions, reactions, and responses. As with anything else, we have to prepare ourselves for whatever may come our way—even while driving. Let us take time to focus on our perspective and prepare for what’s to come so that it whatever we are responsible for will be good and pleasant. If we are late, that is not the fault of anyone else. If we are in a rush, again, that’s a result of us, not someone else. On the flip side, for that driver that may do something to alter your peace, give them grace for we don’t know what they are managing and whether or not they took the time to pray and prepare.

Ephesians 6:18 says, “Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.” We must center our thoughts and pray in all situations, even when we are getting behind the wheel of a car. In everything, and in particular, for something that can impact someone, pray.

Jesus cleans the temple—people were put out

“How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.” Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and it was restored, as sound as the other. But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him. When Jesus became aware of this, he departed. Many crowds followed him, and he cured all of them, and he ordered them not to make him known. This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah:”

No matter the (wo)man made rules or guidelines, may we work to be compassionate and considerate of the safety and wellbeing of others by any means necessary. Let us do what we are willing to stand behind, regardless of the consequences that may arise.

John 16:33

I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!”

No matter what is going on around us or what may be brought to us, we don’t have to worry; God is with us and for us in every situation where we work to do what is pleasing in His will.

May safety, compassion, and well intentions be the driving forces in all that we do, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
