Let us pause throughout the day, ensuring we are doing our best, giving our best, and when we can’t give Him the rest
Time-Out
Timeouts in life are opportunities for us to do nothing, yet regroup to focus on what’s at hand. In the NBA, as teams compete, they each are allowed seven timeouts during regulation play; NFL teams receive three per half. As noted by the author today, “The essence of a time-out, in the bathroom or any-where, is to get time alone exactly when you need it, in the middle of something stressful. The stress involved can even be good stress…. I can almost guarantee that the outcome will be better with the time-out than without it.” Timeouts allow us to sit in a moment and process, and not react in an hostile manner due to an emotional situation. They also allow us to revel in moments that are meant to celebrate us and memories to be captured. As encouraged, do nothing during several time-outs today. And do it well.
Psalm 37:7 reads, “Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil devices.” In all situations we such take time to go to God in prayer and supplication. Whether we need assistance in a situation or want to thank Him for an occasion, let us sit with Him.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Micah 6:6-8
What does the Lord require of you?
“With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
We can sacrifice tangible things to the Father, yet the more important gifts are to do right to and by others, to love one another, and reverence Him and embrace our meekness.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Psalms 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.”
There is none greater we can turn to or dwell in like our Father. When we can’t on our own, He can’t. Sit with Him and in Him.
Let us pause throughout the day, ensuring we are doing our best, giving our best, and when we can’t give Him the rest, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
