Let us reflect, pray, and Live Out Love
Oops!
Kundtz states in today’s Quiet Mind: One Minute Retreats “Noticing and recognizing pleasures is what we gain from our moments of doing nothing, of reverie, of awakening to our true desires and passions. It is never too late to find a new wall or climb a different ladder.” In today’s message he speaks about how particularly in our youth, but also as many work to climb the corporate ladder, we miss out on things because we rush through, nit savoring the moment. The queso is posed at the end: Do you have an "Oops" to say about what you've hurried past?
Today I am beginning the SEEK Fast with Alfred Street Baptist Church. During this 40-day journey, I will work to clear my mind and my heart, but also have time of reflection. I know there are things that I have ignored, put aside, and as mentioned, hurried past. May this time allow me to remember to live in each moment with no regrets, and to live out love.
The scripture I will highlight today, is the focus of the SEEK Fast. John 13:35 reads, “‘Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.’” During this time, I pray that I see others as I see myself. I also pray that I reflect on those things that I have intentionally or unintentionally rushed in my life, accepting and learning to slow down and appreciate each moment, person, and thing God has blessed me with in this life.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Jeremiah 3:11-17
“Then the Lord said to me, “Even faithless Israel is less guilty than treacherous Judah! Therefore, go and give this message to Israel. This is what the Lord says: “O Israel, my faithless people, come home to me again, for I am merciful. I will not be angry with you forever. Only acknowledge your guilt. Admit that you rebelled against the Lord your God and committed adultery against him by worshiping idols under every green tree. Confess that you refused to listen to my voice. I, the Lord, have spoken! “Return home, you wayward children,” says the Lord, “for I am your master. I will bring you back to the land of Israel— one from this town and two from that family— from wherever you are scattered. And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding. “And when your land is once more filled with people,” says the Lord, “you will no longer wish for ‘the good old days’ when you possessed the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant. You will not miss those days or even remember them, and there will be no need to rebuild the Ark. In that day Jerusalem will be known as ‘The Throne of the Lord.’ All nations will come there to honor the Lord. They will no longer stubbornly follow their own evil desires.”
There is never a time that we cannot return to our Father when we stray. Each day is a new day with a new beginning, new opportunity, new blessings, and new mercies. May we take to time to assess where we are and where we need to go with His love and blessings upon our lives.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Romans 12:10
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
As we participate in the SEEK Fast or not, may we work to Live Out Love in all that we say and do with one another, whether friend or foe, God expects us to love as He does.
Let us reflect, pray, and Live Out Love, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
