Let the Lord lead us and guide us in community and unity

La Bella Luna

Today’s message tells us about the movie Moonstruck, and how “the beautiful moon, la bella luna, is a symbol that runs through the story and calls each of the main characters to a moment of quiet reflection, and thus to a deeper recognition of their love.” The writer is also quoted by saying, “there is one symbol that more than any other calls human beings to a moment of stillness and reflection, it must be the moon. I beg to differ, for I believe it is the cross. With that, the Lord placed the moon in the sky, and therefore with the following from today’s message, I’m going to replace Lord where moon was written in the text and life for film, for us to consider the following paraphrased text:

Everyone in life has pain and hurt with which they struggle, sometimes without a lot of success. The Lord is the silent witness to all of their lives. The Lord seems to say, by its simple and mysterious presence, that there is more to life than sometimes it seems, there are some people you can indeed trust, and it's important to follow your heart. But first you have to notice it. You have to spend some time looking at the Lord—or perhaps howling at it—in order for Him to call you to a moment of reflection and insight.

May we all take time each day to seeking God, and look to Him for time of reflection and insight that is always needed.

As one of the greatest reminders in Psalms 121:1-8, “I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore.”

‭‭FMBC Weekly Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:16-23

You are the Temple of God; What’s Your Brand?

“Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” So let no one boast about human leaders. For all things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all belong to you, and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.”

May we all remember that individually and collectively, we are the body of Christ. Let us all work together for good, avoiding divisiveness. There is no man or woman who has the power, glory, and dominion—only our God reigns supreme.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Revelations 7:9-10

After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

May we all look forward to that day when we all will truly unite in Christ as one body, regardless of our backgrounds; the one commonality that matters is we are believers and not ashamed of Jesus Christ.

Let the Lord lead us and guide us in community and unity, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
