In this life, let us enjoy ourselves while loving others

Calendars

Kundtz shares this morning that “We are often…run by our schedules, slaves to what we have to do, to what we have been asked to do, to what we think we should do, and, yes, to what we want to do. All this scheduled doing can get us into trouble. We can lose perspective.” He then provides the following categories and for us to consider the percentage of time we spend with each: spiritual practice, leisure, work, reading, time with spouse or partner and family, Stopping time, exercise and sports, child care, housework and cooking, errands, and time with friends. Without even doing so, in my mind I know the areas where the percentage should be high are not, and some don’t even exist in a normal day.

We were not created to work each day and not enjoy life. Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭8‬-‭10 reminds us, “Remember that the Sabbath Day belongs to me. You have six days when you can do your work, but the seventh day of each week belongs to me, your God. No one is to work on that day—not you, your children, your slaves, your animals, or the foreigners who live in your towns.” It is required of us to rest, for even Christ did so and provided the day for us to do so. Additionally, Galatians 5:22-25 says, “God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit.” We must work to create balance in our lives, enjoying things and people who fulfill our lives. Let us work to keep perspective and prioritize enjoying life and living with no regrets.

Small Straws Scripture: Psalm 56:3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Our Father is where we can always turn when we lack comfort and security in our own lives.

Youversion Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:11

Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other.

We are a reflection of God and therefore must always work to love others.

In this life, let us enjoy ourselves while loving others, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
