Appreciate life, and the “real ones” the Real One brings into your life

It Just Is

This morning’s message starts off with the quote from. Jerry Brown and says, “Life just is. You have to flow with it. Give yourself to the moment. Let it happen.” The author then continues to speak, “‘Let it happen’ doesn't mean that we can actually let or not let things happen. Most often we have no control: They happen! What it does mean is that I choose how to respond to what is happening.” He then correlates this to aikido, which I found out to be a modern Japanese martial art that focuses on non-violent conflict resolution through harmonizing with an opponent. Harmonizing is an important word. Regardless of what life brings, we encounter less stress and anxiety when we come into agreement, and let things be. We have better outcomes when we work to respond and not react in situations. Responding allows us time to consider what is going on, where reacting rushes to our initial feelings which can be irrational if we don’t allow time to process. As the title says, life just is, but always remember it is a part of God’s plan for your life. How you accept it or not, is what will alter your peace or not. Cease each moment. Live in each moment.

Deuteronomy 30:15 says, “‘See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity.’” We have a free will to choose, for every situation gives us a choice in how we will respond or not to it. Let us choose what best supports obedience, peace, and the will of God.

FMBC Weekly Reading: Micah‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭12

The judgment by the prophet

“Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, who cry ‘Peace’ when they have something to eat, but declare war against those who put nothing into their mouths. Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without revelation. The sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them; the seers shall be disgraced, and the diviners put to shame; they shall all cover their lips, for there is no answer from God. But as for me, I am filled with power, with the spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin. Hear this, you rulers of the house of Jacob and chiefs of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and pervert all equity, who build Zion with blood and Jerusalem with wrong! Its rulers give judgment for a bribe, its priests teach for a price, its prophets give oracles for money; yet they lean upon the Lord and say, ‘Surely the Lord is with us! No harm shall come upon us.’ Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height.”

Let us not be so selfish and self-centered with being so concerned about what we have, especially when we have at the expense of others or the depriving of others. We must always remember we are to love each other as ourselves. When we treat others bad, are we not doing that right back to ourselves?

Youversion Verse of the Day: Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

This is a reminder that God is the first known hype man, “ride or die”. He is always with us, for when we are alone we are never alone. We always win for we are in His will.
