May we work to overwhelm ourselves and rest in the goodness of God
Soulbody
The text today begins with a question posed: “Why are we so reluctant to l make the connection between the mind and the body?” The author continues by speaking to how many have the thought that the two are not interconnected. In actuality, life the author, my belief is that they are the spiritual and the physical which make up each one of us, and therefore each is significant to the other. Kundtz then speaks about his theory, which is that of many, including myself. He says, “When you are experiencing physical malady, it is an indication of spiritual disquiet, and thus its treatment must be spiritual. Conversely, when you are aware of a spiritual malaise, it is a sign that some physical reality needs healing and thus the treatment will be in the bodily realm.” The Father created our minds and bodies have healing powers; let us listen to our body and soul. If one is troubled, look to the other for healing and vice versa. Whatever is ailing you physically, look to your spiritual side for healing.
Matthew 11:28 is the perfect example of today’s message. Our Father says, “‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” When we are physically tired, let us turn to Him to receive spiritual rest.
FMBC Weekly Reading: St. Luke 16:19-31
They, “the people”, refuse to hear the living; the dead don’t have a chance
“‘There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
As this theme continues, let us all be mindful of how we treat one another, for what we do in the physical has an effect on our lives spiritually in the current and afterlife.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Mark 16:15
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Let us always seek the opportunity to tell of the goodness of God through the Word and through our personal testimonies.
May we work to overwhelm ourselves and rest in the goodness of God, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
