Peace comes with a price—reap the reward in Christ or remain in pieces without Him

A Place At Home

“…We all need to find serenity in our lives…We have need for sacred space.” When many people think of such spaces described they focus on churches, synagogues, and mosques, but one of the most serene places should be our homes. The author asks, “Think of your own home. Is there a place there that calls you, and those with whom you live, to be still, to be quiet?” My past two homes have become my peaceful palaces. I had turmoil prior to them, and many times didn’t feel comfortable in my own space. However, we my moves. creating and being in peace have been nonnegotiable for me. Even visitors come in and voice how peaceful our home looks and feels.

The key is that we welcomed God in and always put Him first. As found in Joshua 24:15, “….choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Where there is God, there is peace. Where there is God, there is love. Where there is God, there is protection. Where there is Gospel, there is all that we need.

FMBC Weekly Reading: John‬ ‭8‬:‭39‬-‭47

God’s people are expected to hear His word and obey, at least follow…

“They answered him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing what Abraham did, but now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. You are indeed doing what your father does.” They said to him, “We are not illegitimate children; we have one father, God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now I am here. I did not come on my own, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot accept my word. You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.””

‭‭‬ ‭Ax we profess to be children of God, may our actions speak louder than words and not be contradictory as with the Jewish leaders here who claimed to be children of Abraham, but they neglected the ways of Christ.

Youversion Verse of the Day: Philippians 4:9

Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

May we do what is expected of us, and He will bless us exceedingly.
