May we always depend on our guidebook, the Bible, to direct us, to be a reference, and to share with others for a better world

Books

The author states this morning, “Of the many gifts of the world that can lead us to contemplation, to creative reverie, to quiet moments of being in the present, perhaps books are the most powerful.” Books allow us to explore the world, get away in our minds, experience others’ lives, and teach lessons. As I’m reading this morning during my devotional time, two things come to mind: the Bible is our guide for life and a book of adventure; and our lives are the only bible some people will ever know. May we work to study and live the way God requires us so that our lives, in turn, will draw others to Him.

John 1:1 reads, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This book has withstood the and will forever remain alive and reverent in our lives. May we consistently turn to it to live the best lives we can in love for Christ and others.

FMBC Weekly Reading: Psalm 12:1-6

A plea against the wicked

“Help, O Lord, for there is no longer anyone who is godly; the faithful have disappeared from humankind. They utter lies to each other; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that makes great boasts, those who say, “With our tongues we will prevail; our lips are our own—who is our master?” “Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan, I will now rise up,” says the Lord; “I will place them in the safety for which they long.” The promises of the Lord are promises that are pure, silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.”

As with David, may we cry out to the Father when we feel mankind lacks the morals and spirit of Christ, going against His commandments and expectations for us. Let us always pray for the healing of this land.

Galatians 5:25

If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit.

May God lead us, guide us, be within us, and seen through us in our every day lives.

May we always depend on our guidebook, the Bible, to direct us, to be a reference, and to share with others for a better world, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
