May we take time to be today and each day

It is the first day of 2025, and it is time to begin again. This year’s devotionals will come from “Quiet Mind: One-Minute Retreats from a Busy World” by David Kundtz. This was chosen 1) because I have books that I have had in my shelf with intentions of using; 2) I forgot to grab one and I like a paper copy and not electronic; and 3) my mind has been an area of focus, because I am back in a space where I find it difficult to turn off.

The first message is “Taking Tune to See”. Kurtz speaks of the term time famine. He goes on to say, “Many of us are starved for time and we have a passionate desire to be fed. We starve for those moments of solitude…”. Today, as encouraged by the author, let’s take the time today to stop and really look at a flower. Time is something that we cannot get back.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us: “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.” Be mindful of your time this day and each day.

Isaiah 43:18-19

“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

On this first day of 2025, God continues to keep His promises to us. Let us be present, for today is a gift. May we be grateful for all that is to come in this day and the year ahead.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

May we take time to be today and each day, my friend.
