May we take time to be and see the power, joy, and strength within us from the Father
Doing and Being
Today’s one-minute retreat is called “Doing and Being”, and a powerful question is posed. “Consider: If you were no longer to do what you do, who would you be?” If we were to ask individuals that, many would probably panic and others would be without words. Many people have become their occupation, and forgetting the importance of just being.
The writer encourages us, “Be still and be with yourself. By doing nothing the doing part of you drops away and the being part of you gradually comes alive.” What is it in you that needs to be resurrected? What in you have you neglected?
Psalms 46:10 encourages us “Be still, and know that I am God…”. Take some time to just be you-not a professional, but just who you are.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Psalms 36:5-9 NKJV an offer from God, "drink from the fountain of life and live."
“Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.”
All we need for life is found in our Father, the fountain of life. We live, breathe, and have our being through Him. When we need rest, we find it in Him. When we need help or strength, we find safety in His arms. There is nothing that does not come from the Lord.
Youversion Verse of the Day Matthew 5:43-44
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you”.
It’s easy to pray for friends and loved ones. The real testament of our faith comes from praying for those we do not see eye to eye with. May we challenge ourselves to be bigger and better in Christ.
May we take time to be and see the power, joy, and strength within us from the Father, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
