May we reflect on the goodness of the Lord, as we reap the fruits of our labor, but never forgetting to help others along the way
A Warm Cup of…
The question is posed, “What is it about taking a cup of warm liquid, whether alone or with someone? It is a quiet and intimate gesture in some ways, and yet one that is allowed almost any time and with almost anyone…. Morning or afternoon, coffee or tea, alone or with a friend, taking a warm cup of something calls us to reflect, to remember, perhaps to share. Now I’m not really a coffee drinker or tea drinker but this made me think about serving the Lord and sharing in His goodness with others. As today’s message encourages, when you find yourself out of sorts, whether alone or with someone during your day, reflect and remember God’s goodness, and share about His goodness.
Psalm 34:1-8 reads, “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed. This poor soul cried, and was heard by the Lord, and was saved from every trouble. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.” Growing up as a child, a coffee commercial said, “The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup.” Yet the best part of waking up is to taste the goodness of the Lord once again, remaining in the land of the living.

The lesson from the barren fig tree
“Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and found none. So he said to the gardener, ‘See here! For three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and still I find none. Cut it down! Why should it be wasting the soil?’ He replied, ‘Sir, let it alone for one more year, until I dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’ ”
We may not always see the fruits of our labor with the naked eye, but if we just wait a little while we will understand how God has interceded on n our behalf, producing what we couldn’t consider from a particular perspective.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and will be repaid in full.
Let us never look down on a (wo)man unless we are picking them up. No matter how high we rise, we too, can fall. Be humble in the blessings and opportunities afforded by the Lord.
May we reflect on the goodness of the Lord, as we reap the fruits of our labor, but never forgetting to help others along the way, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
