May we be considered virtuous to others through our actions and deeds pleasing to our Father as we go about this life
Covering the Bases
These questions were posed by the author today. “How can we know what virtue is and what it isn't? How do we know that we have not placed a convenient condition on our virtue-a condition that will only pop into view when it's needed ("if I recover..")?” These questions were asked because they followed this spanish proverb that was highlighted: “If I die, I forgive you; if I recover, we'll see.“ Sometimes we put conditions on how we treat and what we say to people, instead of truly, in this case forgiving. What is true virtue? What is considered high morals?
Luke 6:31 (CEV) reads, “Treat others just as you want to be treated.” And Colossians 3:17 says, ““Whatever you say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks to God the Father because of him.” At minimum, may we allow these verses lead us and guide us as we engage with others in this life. May God always be please with our actions and deeds.
FMBC Weekly Reading: Jeremiah 31:31-34
I will be your God, you shall be my people
“The Lord said: The time will surely come when I will make a new agreement with the people of Israel and Judah. It will be different from the agreement I made with their ancestors when I led them out of Egypt. Although I was their God, they broke that agreement. Here is the new agreement that I, the Lord, will make with the people of Israel: “I will write my laws on their hearts and minds. I will be their God, and they will be my people. “No longer will they have to teach one another to obey me. I, the Lord, promise that all of them will obey me, ordinary people and rulers alike. I will forgive their sins and forget the evil things they have done.”
God provided a new convening to His people, working to forgive them of whatever kept them from being in His will. That covenant still remains, and we only have to walk with Him in love, and forgiveness of ourselves and to others.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Hebrews 13:16
But don't forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God.
May we always love and lift, helping others when we can, and sharing what we have with fellow (wo)man.
May we be considered virtuous to others through our actions and deeds pleasing to our Father as we go about this life, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
