Breathing in, Breathing Out
This morning, Jon Kabat Zion, American professor of medicine and creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is quoted as saying. “Bringing awareness to our breathing, we remind ourselves that we are here now.” Today we are encouraged by Kundtz, “At any time, in any place, when you need to be calm, when you're upset, when you're distracted and can't seem to do what you want to do, focus on your breathing.” Breathing is a centering activity that brings us home, it centers us and can take us from frustration, anger, and any other feelings that take us out of character, and gives us a Stillpoint of focus.
Genesis 2:7 reads, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” As we use breathing techniques, it grounds us and provides us a reset, mirroring a new beginning. Breathe and reset when you are not at your best.
FMBC Weekly Scripture: Exodus of the 24:1-8 The blood of the covenant between God and the people
“And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.”
As with the Israelites, may we take a covenant, willing to obey the laws and ways of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Everything that can bless, save, and keep us is found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
He is and shall always be the Author of all that is and will be, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
